Principle of Mangrove Isolation

First principle of Riley Encased Methodology is the isolation of individual propagules inside the patented cylindrical encasement device, which creates a controlled environment favorable to early plant development. Trees are protected from harsh environmental factors including wrack, debris, wind and wave activity, predation by macroinvertebrates and vertebrates, and unintentional damage from human interaction.

Implementation of an artificial bottom enables the planting elevation to be independently established for each seedling, while the effects of phototropism and protection from ultraviolet light results in accelerated plant growth.
